  • Download the launcher from MCUpdater.com be sure to save the file to your desktop because you'll also be using it to launch the game when you want to play on the server.
  • Double click on the launcher to start the installation process. If this is your first time using MCUpdater then you will need to fill in your minecraft login information. This information is as safe as if you had used the vanilla launcher, so there is no worry that anybody will have access to your login information.
  • The first time you launch MCUpdater it will say you are out of date with the "Test Server", don;t worry about that. It's just a demonstration of how MCUpdater checks a server to make sure you are up to date with it and how it notifies you when you're not. Click "OK" to dismiss that window.
  • Click on the green + icon at the top left to add the url for the server to your server list in MCUpdater
  • Add the following URL when you're prompted to, http://bit.ly/1UzSvN0 ( right click here to copy link)
  • You've now added the Imaginescape Server to MCUpdater but you still need to set up the options. Click on the COG icon in the top left corner to open the options menu.
  • In the Java settings tab it is recommended to devote at least 4G of minimum and maximum memory to MCUpdater, it's not recommended to use more than 1/2 of the available memory on your PC. Whatever amount you choose, keep the minimum and maximum amounts the same.
  • If your current java version is 7 then add 256M to the permgen space line, ** This is important if you are using java version 7 **
  • If your PC is using a 64 bit version of Windows then you should download and install the 64 bit version of java 8 at https://java.com/en/
  • By default MCUpdater will use the latest 32 bit version of JAVA that it finds on your PC. Ensure the Java home path is pointing to your 64 bit version of java, eg. C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_111. You may need to use the browse function on that line to find the 64 bit version on your PC.
  • Once that is filled out press the OK button to save your changes and go back to the main screen.
  • Highlight the Imaginescape icon on the left, Then switch to the Mods tab to choose which optional mods you'd like to install.
  • Once you've chosen your optional mods, press "Update" on the bottom right corner of that screen, you can view the progress of the update by switching to the Progress tab.
  • Now that you have used the MCUpdater launcher to install the server, when you are out of date with the server you will be notified and you can easily update by pressing the update button again, it will only download the files that have been updated instead of the whole Modpack again.
  • Once the update is finished press the "launch" button beside the update button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • This will now launch the Minecraft game, it's a large Modpack so it may take a few minutes for the game to load, Once you;'re on the main screen switch to the multiplayer tab and ensure that you see the ImagineScape server on it.
  • Click on the server and choose join, if you are unable to connect to the server edit the server's settings and change the address to, then try to connect to the server again.
  • If you are having any troubles installing the ModPack or connecting to the server, you can seek help in our IRC channel at http://webchat.esper.net/#Imaginescape , or contact us on our discord channel at https://discord.gg/0bPO9wUne7FY51m3 .
We hope to see you on the server soon.
